Two master pianists with very different styles at the open-air auditorium of Parque Almansa in San Javier!

Considered one of the key figures of his generation and one of the brightest and most charismatic musicians in the jazz world, the versatile American pianist and composer Emmet Cohen left an indelible mark on Jazz San Javier during his first visit to the festival in 2022. Two of his projects —"Live from Emmet's Place", a weekly concert recorded on video featuring countless jazz stars performing as guests of Emmet's trio, and the "Master Legacy Series" albums, with renowned jazz masters as guests— have cemented his status as an indispensable figure in today's jazz scene. On this occasion his magnificent welcomes special guest Patrick Bartley, one of the brightest saxophonists in the USA, as Emmet returns to what will doubtless be a rapturous welcome in San Javier.

Following Emmet Cohen on stage at the Parque Almansa is the fantastic Slovenian singer and pianist Uroš Perić, a brilliant interpreter of the songs from the golden age of jazz, blues, and soul. With more than a thousand concerts in 26 countries under his belt his prestige and recognition are undeniable, his refined piano technique reminding audiences of Gene Harris and the influence of the legendary Ray Charles. In fact, Ray’s daughter, Sheila Raye Charles, describes him as the true modern embodiment of Ray Charles himself.

He is accompanied by the magnificent Barcelona Big Blues Band, led by the spectacular bassist Iván Kovasevic, and the brilliant Slovenian singer Saša Lešnjek, combining to perform the most beautiful jazz, blues, and soul tunes (and a small portion of the concert dedicated to the music of Ray Charles).
