Torrevieja Holy Week 2025: All the best parades to look forward to
The spectacular Easter processions in Torrevieja draw crowds from all over the Costa Blanca
With the final days of Lent approaching, Holy Week in Torrevieja is well underway. This year's celebrations feature 15 brotherhoods, 19 floats and thousands of participants, making it a truly unforgettable experience.
The festivities begin on Passion Saturday, April 12, with three processions:
- 5pm: The Children's Throne of the Brotherhood of Our Father Jesus of the Fall will process from the Virgen del Carmen Shopping Centre to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish.
- 6.30pm: The Children's Throne of the Brotherhood of Saint John the Evangelist will process from Miguel Hernández Square to the Archpriestal Temple of the Immaculate Conception.
- 9pm: The Brotherhood of Our Father Jesus the Captive Nazarene will process from the Parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus to the Archpriestal Temple of the Immaculate Conception.
On Palm Sunday, April 13, the following events will take place:
- 10.30am: The Solemn Blessing of Palms and Branches will be held at the doors of the Parish of the Immaculate Conception, followed by the Solemn Palm Procession.
- 6.30pm: The Brotherhood of the Most Holy Vera-Cruz of the Convocation and Our Father Jesus in Samaria, along with the Brotherhood of Our Father Jesus Triumphant and Our Lady of Hope and Peace, will process from the Parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
The rest of Holy Week will feature a range of processions and events, including:
- Holy Monday, April 14: The Brotherhood of the Most Holy Vera Cruz of the Convocation and Our Father Jesus in Samaria, along with several other brotherhoods, will process from the Archpriestal Temple of the Immaculate Conception.
- Holy Tuesday, April 15: The Brotherhood of the Most Holy Vera Cruz of the Convocation and Our Father Jesus in Samaria, along with several other brotherhoods, will process from the Archpriestal Temple of the Immaculate Conception.
- Holy Wednesday, April 16: The Brotherhood of the Most Holy Vera Cruz of the Convocation and Our Father Jesus in Samaria, along with several other brotherhoods, will process from the Parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Archpriestal Temple of the Immaculate Conception.
- Holy Thursday, April 17: The Brotherhood of the Most Holy Vera Cruz of the Convocation and Our Father Jesus in Samaria, along with the Brotherhood of the Crucified Christ and Most Holy Mary of Silence, will process from the Archpriestal Temple of the Immaculate Conception. Later, the Brotherhood of Our Lady of Mercy will process from Plaza del Calvario.
- Good Friday, April 18: The Solemn Exercise of the Way of the Cross of the Most Holy Christ of the Sea in His Last Breath will take place around Plaza de Oriente, followed by the Solemn and Great Procession of the Holy Burial of Christ from the Archpriestal Temple of the Immaculate Conception.
- Easter Sunday, April 20: The Brotherhood of Saint John the Evangelist and the Brotherhood of the Blessed Sacrament will process from the Archpriestal Temple of the Immaculate Conception, followed by the Solemn Meeting of the images of the Immaculate Conception and Jesus in the Eucharist.
- Monday of San Vicente Ferrer, April 28: The Celebration of the Eucharist will be held at the Archpriestal Temple of the Immaculate Conception, followed by the Solemn Procession of the Communion of San Vicente Ferrer to administer Holy Communion to the sick and disabled.
Holy Week in Torrevieja has been declared an event of provincial tourist interest and there’s plenty to keep the whole family happy. Some of the highlights include the spectacular procession through the city centre on Good Friday and lots of free sweets on offer for the little ones.
